Statement of the Fourth Central Committee Plenary Meeting
1.   The fourth Central Committee plenary meeting of the National League for Democracy (Liberated Area) was held at a certain place on Thai-Burma border on 9th through 13th January, 2012 to discuss about rapidly changing current political situation, dialogue, national reconciliation, review of 2008 constitution and possibilities regarding coordination and integration with newly registered National League for Democracy.
2.   After making such assessments on current situation and developments, National League for Democracy (Liberated Area) decides to continue to hold the principle which is to "hoist the flag of the National League for Democracy till to its success based on principles and positions set under the leadership of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the NLD"
3.   The NLD-LA also decides to continue its existence and activities till its aims and basic principles have been obviously met.
4.   The NLD-LA extends the Central Executive Committee up to 12 members to strengthen its political activities given the current situation.
5.   The NLD-LA decides to support the decision of the NLD to register as a new political party and to participate in the upcoming elections in 2012. It also forms  a "Committee for Coordination and Integration with the National League for Democracy" in order to be able to assist the national reconciliation process of the NLD with the continued coordination and cooperation with alliance organizations and to coordinate and work accordingly with the NLD.
6.   The Fourth Central Committee plenary meeting warmly welcomes the release of political prisoners including students' leader Min Ko Naing and ethnic leader Khun Tun Oo and attempts for cease fire and peace between the government and ethnic armed forces.
